Danish Home Christmas Seals

For more than 60 years the Danish Home in Croton has been issuing what most people would think of as Christmas seals—stamp-like labels placed on mail during the Christmas season to raise funds and awareness for charitable programs.1 The American Lung Association has become so well-known for its Christmas seals that they’ve trademarked the term, but that doesn’t prevent other organizations from creating these beautiful, poster-like images.   2. Eric and his staff took such good care of my father-in-law when he was a resident (which wasn’t always easy!) And although he lived there only a short time, he and the staff made my entire family — including my kids — feel at home, and part of his “family.” The Danish Home treated my father-in-law care with dignity and respect, always mindful of his changing needs. The Home is host to Danish cultural celebrations and celebratory customs, although residents need not be Danish to live there. The public is often invited to attend performances by a wide variety of musicians, youth ensembles, and cultural groups, and several local artists regularly perform as well. It’s a warm, lovely gathering place, and a vibrant community.

    As a small token of appreciation for the hospitality my family received, I’ve been designing the Danish Home’s Christmas seals for the last several years. I’d attach this year’s design, but I don’t think I’m able to in the comments.
